The most popular excursion in the Phuket region is likely a trip to the Phi Phi Islands. Your vacation on Phuket Island won’t be complete without visiting them. They became a must-see destination following “The Beach”, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, drawing in millions of tourists with their beauty. This excursion is perfect for those who love swimming and sunbathing. Spotless beaches, white sand, palm trees and the warm ocean – all of this will immerse you in a tropical paradise atmosphere for the entire day.
Another excursion no less popular in the Phuket region, but quite different from the trip to the Phi Phi Islands. Here you’ll only have one stopover for swimming during the return trip. However, you’ll visit James Bond Island. You’ll travel by canoe, visit lagoons only accessible during low tide, visit an island with a muslim village, and reach another island via a cave. You’ll fully appreciate the astonishing beauty of both the small and large islands.
A trip to the Similan Islands is the most exciting and unforgettable excursion in the Phuket region. They’re a group of 9 islands which showcase the primeval beauty of local nature. Emerald waters, the open sea, untamed beaches and a complete lack of civilization. They’re probably the most beautiful islands, not only near Phuket Island, but in all of Thailand.
Another alternative to the Similan Islands are the Surin Islands. This 5-island archipelago is located nearly 200 km north of Phuket, in addition to being a national park. Unlike the rocky Similan Islands, here most of the coast is covered with white sandy beaches.
Racha (or Raya) Island is located only 30 minutes from Phuket, so going there doesn’t require much effort. This excursion is perfect for those looking for a calm and cozy location, with a clean beach and crystal-clear water.

This province was made famous by its steep solitary limestone rocks, on land as well as in the sea. The location has been especially popularized following the exploration of Phuket – many yachtsmen, climbers, divers and regular tourists have discovered unmatched beauty here, both above and below the water line.
If you took the Phi Phi Islands tour, then you visited one of the three Khai islands. They’re all fairly close to Phuket – about 20 minutes are needed to reach the first island by speedboat. All three islands are within 10 minutes of each other. They’re similar in size but different in shape: Khai Nok, Khai Nai and Khai Nui.
Coral island is just 9 kilometers from Phuket. Here you can enjoy the peace and solitude far away from the bustling civilization. A small island with a small beach and only a small hotel right on the beach - a paradise for lovers of beach holidays wanting to be alone with nature.
